depending on which web server you are using

in iis in internet servise manager change propertys of folder and dont allow indexing or directory browsing

in apache you can either edit the http config or use htaccess

heres a couple of links to help
http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/mod/core.html
http://www.javascriptkit.com/howto/htaccess11.shtml

or... you could just put in an index.html page (which servers automatically load) with a redirect to your main page then the extra main.php would not have to be typed in and it would hide the folder directory.

Or slap a password on an index page and just write a cookie so you don't have to enter it all the time, it's easy to list your contents!
