I made myself something like that which I use to write and test all of my codes in. I take the contents of the textarea and write them to a new window which allows me to test codes on the fly without the hassle of using notepad and having to save/save as and then return to view.

Besides, I have numerous other features which notepad does not provide such as line number, split, trim, count, duplicate, delete duplicates, sort, sort reverse, add a prefix or suffix, lowercase, uppercase, mixed case, camelCase, and a custom built script/css/html and bbcode library as well as the normal notepad features of find/replace, new, open, save, save as. ;)
