Convert wav or any audio file to mp3 - urgent plz help

hi,

i am stuck in a very peculiar problem,

i am not able to figure out whether it is possible to convert wav or any other audio file to mp3 using php.

if not then is there any code or script that can be integrated easily with php.

Not sure what OS your on, but if it's linux and you have a mp3 converter installed (xmms) you should be able to use the passthu() command to execute the xmms command line interface to make a .wav into an .mp3.

With windows??? Good luck (although I'm sure something exists).
