Ok, I absolutley hate the way phpbb looks by default, so I made a few changes to it to make it look like a normal classic forum. I havnt changed the colors or graphics yet, but I did change its over all look to make it more classic looking.

I changed 3 Different Files:
overall_header.tpl (directory is: /templates/subSilver/).
index_body.tpl (directory is: /templates/subsilver/).
lang_main.php (directory is: /language/lang_english/).
Feel free to download the source for the .TPL files.

No offence intended but it's hardly spectacular, and why have you posted it here? There is a PHPBB mod community, well actually several of them out there which would benefit more from it than this site.
Still though, I don't see any reason to close this thread. :)

Mhtml: This is not the first thread posted asking for opinions about a page design. I can hardley take offense in such a pointless comment. I never claimed to do anything spectacular, I simply made an adjustment to a file containing html, and posted it in an html related forum. And I wasnt really trying to benifit the community, I just wanted to know what people thought about it.

Correct, and since the VB3 upgrade the addition of the site-reviews forum designated a place for those. My comment was not pointless, a quick review enabled me to derive 2 obvious points from it -
1. That there hasn't been all that much work put into the template files, I critically analyzed it with a short summary which I thought suited what I saw completely. There have been much harder reviews done and you did ask for a review.
2. That there are actual communities out there which would benefit from this, this information was given as free advice in case you had not known of this before hand, these forums are primarily devoted to giving help in web programming and as such you would get a more suited response on the actual theme point of view from forums where people primarily discuss such topics.
The reason I closed it is because I did not think that it was relevant to the html & css forums, and only just suited the reviews forum. I will move it there however after I've finished this post.
Poor choice of words

I wanted a review about how it looked, not about the amount of effort i put into it. Either way I now see there is a new forum strictly intened for site reviews and I will use that forum for now and on. I apologize for the confusion.

Well it does not look very different from the original style. Looks more of a combination of the default phpBB style, with a little phpBB2.2 put into it:

The 4px black borders are an eyesore, they don't blend in at all with the colour scheme, and having black border lines doesn't help much either.
You have edited the template files, but I fail to see any improvement of the code, it still is horribly unclean, and does need a lot of work.
It hasn't tickled my tastebuds at al.

Those borders are thick

So yeah, I reckon you should take it the extra mile and give it a complete overhaul if you wanna change it anyway :)
Give it a try :)

yeh, i admit i have quite a bit of work to go. and btw, WO! i just viewed it in mozilla, and i had no idea th the border was that thick! dose anyone know why it does that in mozilla? thanks for all the advice so far everyone.
dunno, but after the body tag, the first table is set at 80% width...
<table width="80%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="10" border="0" align="center">
perhaps part of the culprit?
