placing ads on my site

I would like to have a small banner ad on my site. I'm not sure exactly how to ask, how do I find a company to put their banner on my site? I tried a Google search, but wasn't sure what to search for... A little guidance would be appreciated. :)

Google AdSense (http://www.google.com/ads/) is very popular, and quite unobrusive in comparison to chaotic banners that are designed to conflict with their surrounds and draw the user's attention. You can use simple CSS to style the text based ads and hopefully get some cash out of it... :cool:

Thanks, I like the AdSense idea, but i kinda have space for a banner, and can't think of anything to put there, so I want an ad. :D

Also, upon further digging, I did come upon some places that exchange banners. I should've waited though, cuz my site isn't exactly finished yet (www.mygpop.net (http://www.mygpop.net) ). I just have the main page link to my forums until it's finished. I also don't have many members (only two lol) right now cuz i just put it up the other day.
