phpBB stylegsnedders 04-08-2004, 10:51 PM http://phpbbstyles.geoffers.uni.cc/forums/ Nightfire 04-08-2004, 11:19 PM Yuck. Looks like slimer off the ghostbusters has been through the forums. It not really a new style though, all you done is change colours Antoniohawk 04-08-2004, 11:54 PM What Nightfire said. Also, I don't think that green is really a great color choice, especially that gradient bar. gsnedders 04-09-2004, 11:11 AM It is green as it was made for a forum of a site that I am making and it has very good reason to be green. ionsurge 04-09-2004, 12:06 PM That shade of green, I swear, it makes me feel naucious... and that can't be good. mindlessLemming 04-09-2004, 01:48 PM Seriously dude, if you haven't gotten the general vibe yet, that green in the bar cannot be an option... l3vi 04-09-2004, 04:53 PM ack! it looks horrible  That coulour and those shades of that colour make it look extremely n00bish...... extreeeeeeeeemmmmmellly, and it looks horrible. Sry, but it does. ronaldb66 04-13-2004, 01:37 PM There is nothing wrong with green, persé, it's just that the pale green shades don't work at all with the whites. I guess it's because there's to little contrast between them, which makes everything look very glaring. Also, on the subject of color my insights are next to meaningless, but personally I don't think green and blue combine very well. There are a number of resources online on color combinations; unless you have a really good eye for color, I suggest sticking with more or less safe combinations instead of going for daring ones like green-blue. gsnedders 04-13-2004, 01:54 PM Better now? ionsurge 04-13-2004, 02:03 PM No dude, it is the shade of green that you are using... it is too flourescent. Try and get a more pastel shaded green. ronaldb66 04-13-2004, 02:41 PM I tried to figure out what it was about the greens that put me off, but since I don't have any graphic design background I'm not familiar with the lingo. For me, the bright green attracts way to much attention for a background; as ionsurge suggested, maybe toning it down will help. As for the pale green shade, it still is competing with the white too much, making it hard for the eye, and therefore strenuous for the viewer, to find the boundary between the two, where the whole purpose of that background color is just that. Same goes for the pale grey/blue (?), by the way. If I recall correctly, the scheme allows for a border to surround the different blocks; see if a darker border would help to separate them from the white background. JAVAEOC 04-14-2004, 02:54 AM Dude that is shocking....  SDP2006 04-15-2004, 12:05 AM The colors could use some work, they don't compliment each other and are kind of hard on the eyes. Keep trying! :) gsnedders 04-15-2004, 12:11 AM I've already started work on my next one, which will be called text and will be text only and unlike this one, it won't be a rewrite of subSilver, however, I will make changes over time on this one... l3vi 04-15-2004, 02:01 AM I had second thoughts after making this post, and I am sorry if I hurt anybody's feelings. And, it was just an opinion. As I said, I am sorry if I hurt anybodys feelings, this post was not intended for doing that. gsnedders 04-15-2004, 10:52 AM Look, I'm redoing some graphics as we speak here... gsnedders 04-15-2004, 11:19 AM Any better? ionsurge 04-15-2004, 11:33 AM Sort of, but the shade of green is still much too bright, making the colours contrast a lot. cg9com 04-15-2004, 02:33 PM Im going to say something that mite seem a little rude... but plz dont take it as rude... I dont intend on it being rude. Okay, I dont think you have really listened to any of us. We all said that the colours pretty much suck. They, do. You have redone it, and you havent done anything. They look terrible. Someone already said that the green and blue dont compliment each other, and they dont. tone down that ugly *** shade of green! Especially in the part that uses the Forum || Topics || Posts || Last Post || The background coulor needs to leave. It pretty much sux. I dont think it will fit there no matter what coulour you put. I would also edit the phbb logo to where it fits your coulours, instead of being dark blue and orange. It doesnt fit with that ugly shade of green and light purple. Keep in mind this is an opinion only - and one that could be more eloquently put next time around ... |
