Hi , with so much todo and no time to do it ! , I need a layout for an upcoming site.

READ FIRST
Before we go any further I need to see samples of something you have already done , this can be either artwork or an existing website.

I am not interested in how the site works/groovy features etc as I will be handling that anyway.

I simply want a layout , Photoshop format is cool (any image format is fine) or an actual HTML template + images etc works as well.

SPEC
The website is for an accountant , so I will be looking for something conservative ( though they are progressive enough to accept a little style ;) )
there is little point going any further at this point other than to say the content is straightforward enough menu + content , layout will be your input.

RENUMERATION
oh dear , I hate talking $ but anyway I guess $100-$200 USD (PayPal/whatever) is what I am looking to spend , for the upper limit I would want a couple of variants on the theme that I could use if and when.

there would be no possibility of linkage from the finished site to you/yours though would be perfectly happy to give you a link from my website which gets far more hits anyway ;)

please pm or email me if you think we can work together, but don't start sending designs etc as I need to see something you have already done (even if totally unrelated to accountany) to see if we have the same idea of what looks good.

Also happy to work for swapsy's , I do most things PHP , can work with PERL or Python (under duress) + competent with Filemaker/Paradox/FoxPro-type databases etc , remote compilation/installation of LAMP components & PHP extensions & some *NIX scripting , but happy to pay as noted above.

Hi there, not sure if you got my IM so I'll post too.

Just seen your post requesting a template for the site you are developing.
I can do you a full xhtml/css layout, with working nav etc (css rollovers) obviously will include any psds and images.
I'll email you examples of work, though my work is more standards based now, so please forgive the 'tag soup' of my older sites.

Kindest regards,
Gary

I could do this for $200 USD.

But I would need to add a small link back to my website at the bottom. I don't understand why you won't accept that, unless you want to act as you created the site, which is wrong.

lol well aside from the fact that I will be creating the website thats not the point here, I do as my clients ask, sometimes that means no link, sometimes it does.

If and when I sign a site I sign it `logic by firepages` cos thats what I do, the logic & framework , happy to add a `design by` when & If I can.

Anyway I think (awaiting confirmation) that this post should be considered closed but thanks to all for replying.

I don't understand why you won't accept that, unless you want to act as you created the site, which is wrong.

Alot of companies request this -- think, if anything, about print design. I can NEVER put my name on a professional brochure, catalog, or marketing layout -- same thing as a website, only there's printing. Some companies will go so far to make you sign a waiver dis-allowing you to put it in your portfolio at all (or even stating that you worked on the site, which is the case here I believe). So think of the reason for the trade off or the benefit and do it or don't. Some of the benefit is just personal practice, helping out fellow peeps that you know are good workers -- and if he's going to link to your personal site, then with his hit count that might be worth it for your name alone.

Remember, the Nike swoosh was designed by University of Oregon student Carolyn Davidson in 1964. She was paid $35 dollars for the design, and received nothing more. Welcome to corporate America, it sucks, but it's our industry.
