New to cgi

Hi All,
I am extremely new to cgi/perl programming. I've been following links and tutorials for days. This is a basic question. I want to write a script a cgi in perl, where can I download the Perl script writer from or do I just use notepad? Also how can I upload using SSH in Dreamweaver?

you can create perl scripts using notepad. I think Dreamweaver will let you crete/edit them as well. Dreamweaver will probably color code statements. I use Macromedia Homesite 5 for most my scripting
