FTP listing?

i want to beale to pull up the entire directory of my site with my borser... so say

www.DomainWebDesigns.com/forums/

but when i do that it automaticly takes me to the index.php how can i view the listing of files in that directory without having to log onto a ftp server...

i dont think you can i your server is configured to send directly to the index.html page. but why would you want to do that anyways?
