To me, the Zend Encoder price is just rediculous. Up there around 1 grand. There has to be something that does the job for free - right? Let me know.

Well it is meant for products which are to professional level which have taken a lot of money and effort to create. A grand is nothing if it's to secure your products which you/your company relies on.
The chances are that if you do find another product to encode the code to the standards of zend, the server the script is on will also need the encoding reader program installed on the server too, which is usually very doubtful.

Well I have a forum and shopping carts and things of that nature I'd like to sell without giving out the source.
