I usually don't say something unless I can suggest a better alternative... However, that looks quite tacky and very 1996 at the latest :(
Not trying to be cruel:rolleyes:

It's a bit large and bulky to be a nice functional logo in my opinion. It's not bad, but please do make another one. Keep the colors though, they're looking good! If you can, make the logo have something unique within it which helps define what it means and represents. For example, right now, in the posted logo you could stuff a bunch of names in the orb and I'd have no clue what the logo was for. If you incorporated a set of headphones or maybe a record or CD I could then assume the topic would concern music. The more people can gather from your logo the better.

To give an example of what I'm trying to get at with the symbolism bit - imagine the words "Kitty-Foo-Foo" in your logo or "Bunny-Hop-Hop". Got the picture in your head? Now even with those words in there I know just as much about "Kitties" and "Bunnies" as I do "Black-Ice". You want it so that cutesy animal names seem completely out of the scheme of things and that "Black-Ice" makes some sense in relation to the logo. For all I know black ice could be about a tragic tale of driving at night in a blizzard. Well, I think you get my point.

You look like your capable in the graphics department. Try some different things out. Have fun! :)

Toolz: When making any kind of graphic that might be seen at different sizes, it's best to make it big and then make it smaller if need be (a lot better than making it small and needing to make it bigger, since that wouldn't look well at all)

I'm guessing we would see this graphic smaller on an actual page.

True, however, when you post ana image up for review you are too assume that how it appears is how it will be used.
