View Full Version : mhash support in PHP - how common?

I have a business page hosted by easyspace.com, which provides support for CGI scripts, PHP, etc. However, when I recently went to activate a credit card acceptance page that uses a fingerprint function provided by my credit card gateway, I discovered that the server isn't configured to support the mhash() extension to PHP. My question, is mhash support common or not? Should I be upset with the web hosting service for not providing it or with the credit card gateway service for requiring it?

you should be upset if when you ask your host (assuming a paid host) to install it they decline.

many hosts seem happy enough to install extensions if they are not known to cause issues , mhash should I think be safe/straignforward for your host to install.
