Okay, got a question. How does one go about making a javascript read a specific cookie (if it exists) and send the data to a database? the database is MySQL and it's hosted by the french lycos, so it supports php if it's needed.

Ahh, you want to read a cookie from another domain. You can't do that. Obviously it's for security reasons. You can share a cookie among its subdomains like for example .mail.yahoo.com shares a cookie with .groups.yahoo.com and other subdomains. That's possible if the cookie is saved with the domain set to .yahoo.com
