I have a CSS set-up for a site but for one table I want to override the colour scheme to set a different colour for the table border.

I am sure this is simple but could someone tell me how to do this.

Please supply:
Stylesheet,
Page source;
either as link (preferred) or as cut-n-paste (only if it's not too big); without this info, it's practically impossible to give any sort of specific help.
An attempt at non-specific help:
You're probably looking for a way to identify the one table you want to change; either by assigning a class or an id (likely the better choice) to the table and using descendant selectors, you can address said table and all of its components without altering the more generic declarations.

The page is at http://www.cirrusaircraft.co.uk/prices_SRV.htm

What I want is the change the border of the table from the grey curretnly used to being the same blue at the header.

Hi,
try this:

<table border="1" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="border-collapse: collapse" id="table25" width="100%" bordercolordark="#253E82" bordercolorlight="#253E82">

I hope that's what you were looking for.

Oh, I thought it was table26...
Anyway, the preffered method would be to use CSS to specify the border color instead of non-standard attributes, but since this is a typical Frontpage page and there's no end to the use of deprecated and proprietary elements and attributes, why bother; go with what jeskel suggested (I still think it was table26, but hey... :rolleyes: ).

By the way: considering the fact that it is built using Frontpage: very nice job, as far as layout and color scheme are concerned!

I am sure this will be a frontpage problem but I try to put the new code in for the broders but everytime I go to save then it is removed???

Anyone any idea why or how to correct - other than don't use Frontpage!!!!

Check the attachement. Test it before uploading anything.

Just a detail: it has been said a thousand times on this board but you should try to use css, have a dtd, check if your code validates yadda yadda.

:)

'hope I helped.

Actually you should... Not that I am teling you what you have to do but you could learn a lot of cool and useful tricks if you tried to write your pages by yourself. Moreover everyone in here will be happy to help. just my 0.02$ tho.

:)

you could learn a lot of cool and useful tricks if you tried to write your pages by yourself Not to mention you can cut page sizes down to, oh, about a quarter of what they are now.
Trust me (been there, done that, seen the movie): if you get more experienced at building sites and start to demand more, you'll soon get tired of the limitations Frontpage imposes on you.

Frontpage is useful to know if you design pages for larger organizations. Sometimes they have demands that the pages have to be editable in Frontpage, in which case you may have to do some massive compliance editing. Frontpage is only built to edit pages made with Frontpage. :b

(But by all means learn coding without it, cause in 99% of all occasions it's better to stay away from it)

I only left the 'old tag soup' behind me recently... Still learning tho... But I definitly have no regret. Definitly not.
