Simple Banner request.

Hey.

I used to have ample software to make a simple banner - now I do not. I wanted to request a banner for a new site I am starting.

As far as style I'd like it to look identical to this one I found at:

www.biologyforums.com

because I am using the same phpBB style.

However, my banner should read "Mathematics Forums".

According to the admin it was made in fireworks. Can anyone reproduce this for me?

I would be grateful as I no longer have graphics software or time.

Gimp also comes in a Windows version, which I have, and it works great.

It doesn't seem to fit right.

Any other versions that don't have the yellow, and have maybe a more solid shinny blue base, with some other color of fade?

Well what should I use to make one.

ok that image coulda been created by any crappy online thing. Just googl free logo creator Im sure you'll find something..

You're right, gimp is very lacking. (I'm sorry :( I'll switch to Linux as soon as there is a Photoshop equivelent)

I think your best bet would be downloading the demo of JASC Paint Shop Pro (http://www.jasc.com/products/paintshoppro/), I used to use it when it was at ver. 4 and it was quite good. I'm sure that ver. 8 has all the features you will need to make such an image.
I was going to recommend you download the demo of Photoshop Elements, but at 111Mb I wouldn't wish that upon anyone :eek:
