Draw something / or paint it. Then scan it into your pc. You can then edit it in photoshop. Or find an image in a magazine and scan that in so that you can edit it in photoshop.

Experience, and lots of it. search google for photoshop tutorials. try the tutorials section at www.deviantart.com have some good ones.

you can go here: http://www.flamingtext.com. I believe thats where GOW got their logo. On flamingtext, choose: starscape. ;)
