hey all.

im using small iframe, i Do Not want it to be scrollable right to left (and, ofc, not left to right either heh') but i Do want it to be scrollable up and down...

(when i enter text, it automatically creates a scrollbar at the bottom, even tho there is no need for one...)

and, can you change the colors (or graphics?) of the scollbars in an iframe?

That's a trait of IE, scrollbars when scrollbars aren't needed.
I can't answer your first question about scrolling only up-down, for I only know how to turn of all scrolling of an iframe.

and to answer your question on coloring the scrollbars, yes that can be done, but in IE only. you do it in CSS.

ok :-) guess ill have to think of a solution without any scrolling at all then.

as for coloring the scrollbars, im using this script

<style type="text/css">
<--
body {
scrollbar-face-color: #EEF1F1;
scrollbar-highlight-color: #EEF1F1;
scrollbar-shadow-color: #EEF1F1;
scrollbar-3dlight-color: #cccccc;
scrollbar-arrow-color: #000000;
scrollbar-track-color: #EEF1F1;
scrollbar-darkshadow-color: #cccccc;
}
-->
</style>

didnt quite get it to work with the iframe tho...

Did you switch body with iframe?

iframe {
scrollbar-face-color: #EEF1F1;
scrollbar-highlight-color: #EEF1F1;
scrollbar-shadow-color: #EEF1F1;
scrollbar-3dlight-color: #cccccc;
scrollbar-arrow-color: #000000;
scrollbar-track-color: #EEF1F1;
scrollbar-darkshadow-color: #cccccc;
}

here's an idea, although i don't know how 'semantic' it is as i'm just getting started with the CSS side of things... anyways could you put the text in a <div> tag in the html document that is the content of the iframe? that way you can then give it a specific width or perhap use a table with a given width?

sounds interesting, newmand2, do you think you could give me an example?

sure, here goes. Seeing as its an iframe i guess the code doesnt matter too much. I would have just written:

<html>
<head>
<link rel="style.css">
</head>
<body>
<div class="iframe">Your content</div>
</body>
</html>

Now this may not work correctly as I said I am just starting out, the style sheet would then contain something like so:

.iframe div {
width: 200px;
}

assuming ofc your iframe is 200 pixels wide. If it doesn't work, i suggest you google it seeing as that is all i would do. Also post back here for others to help :)
