Hi there,
Hope the title was not misleading. To be honest, I do not know if it is CGI or Java that is required. That's where I need your help.
I have had an idea for an Add-on to one of my sites, that I cannot find ANYWHERE on the cut'n'paste sites out there - and I am no google novice. So, I am asking for your help to see if
a)You have seen something out there for me to cut'n'paste or
b) If you want to take a shot at writing the code if you cannot find it either.
It's hard to explain in just words - so have set up a small site to help explain visually here:
http://www.geocities.com/kevin_andrews2
to accompany this posting.
I want users to link to my site.
BUT - instead of saying 'cut and past this code into your site', I want them to be able to :
Input variables into text-fields
Hit submit...
....and be offered up some simple HTML code to paste into their own website based on those inputs.
e.g.
Input their Name
Input their City
Name: Kevin Andrews
City: Sydney
When the code comes back, the Name field and the City field have been put into a sentence.
Such as I, Kevin Andrews from Sydney like Chocolate.
However.... I would like the word CHOCOLATE in the example here, to be a link to my chocolate website at www.chocolate.com (I don't own that site, it's an example ;-))
So, when the user cut's and paste's the resulting HTML into their site, I effectivley have a link to my site which they have personalised, from another user's site , but the word that is linked, is a specific keyword that I want google to recognise as a KEYWORD that links to my site... thus helping rankings as well as offering the user a way to personalise the link and become involved.
Please email me if you have the solution or obviously, leave it here if you want others to see the answer! If you write it yourself, am very happy for you to add your name/details/URL as a credit in the code that is used (not the bit that the users cut and paste! That would look silly).
As mentioned, I could not find this anywhere and I think this could be a very useful and popular site-add-on for little folks like me trying to build their sites and get links to it.
Any help or pointers would be greatfully appreciated. You will have gathered, my grasp of coding is ZERO - so please remember that if you know a solution!
Thanks.
