Hi,
Does anybody know if it is possible to get your Internet Explorer browser and your Netscape Browser to start/launch automatically after your Internet Connection automatically connects?
If it is possible to do this, then I would be grateful if someone could let me know how to do this!
I have Internet Explorer 6.0 and Netcape 7.1,
Thanks,
Am

If you are on dial up.. Why dont you just set your connection to default and open internet explorer/netscape and it should ask you to connect. ( In IE: Tools > Internet Options > Connections. Click the one you wish to connect to..Set as Default. and the radio 'Always dial a connection')
or you could /also do it via startup...add a shortcut in the start up folder in the Start menu to Internet Explorer or Netscape.
You could always tick the 'connect automatically' checkbox but i find that dangerous as other programs could connect and use your connection when you would rather them not to.
And not to mention a large phone bill if it does not disconnect.
well i dont know otherwise from dialup.
hope i helped..
edit: few mistakes :P tired...

I found a program to do it, I think...it's further down. Other than that I'd place the connection call in a batch file. The next line would contain something like:
"C:\program files\internet explorer\iexplore.exe"
Here are the links I've dug up:

A program to do it for you, it launches your applications when it detects your connection, called NetLaunch

Hey, thanks for replying guys!!
>>Celtboy>> I did have a look at the links which you provided, thank you, though NetLaunch I realised taht this was specifically designed for Windows95 and NT, though I have XP.
I downloaded the file and ran it and it did not bring up any kind of menu wherever I accessed it from, so my impression is that it is not compatible with my Operating System...
Is this the case? I sthere another program which you are aware of? Also, after looking at the first link, I do not quite understand it..its a litte complicated, lol!!
Please let me know, if you can help, thanks...;-)
>>VKIDV>>hi, I have set my connection to dial automatically etc., already, what I want my system to do after that is launch Netcape immedately and go to my Home Page address which I have set.
Is there a seperate setting which could allow me to bring up Netscape on the home page and then dial the connection (i.e other way round instead of dialling connection first?)
Pls let me know if you have any ideas...:-) Thanks, guys,
Am

>>Celtboy>> Thanks, v. much :-)
I have downloaded the software and installed it and checked it out and it seems to be alright.
Only problem now, is that, for some reason, my Dial Up Networking box does not appear staright away and connect to the internet rightafter start up, which is what I want it to do.
It used to do this before, have I overlooked something or done something wrong?
