First I would like to say hello to all .

I'm new in this forum but not in webdesign , I hope I can help some people out in the future but now I got a problem or more a question actualy .

I would like to now how I can insert a variable into a textarea ...

I did write a cms tool for my cliets . Now they are not skilled with HTML , the thing is , its easy for them to alter the webpage . They can put the data of their webpage's into their database with that tool . Like a forum you know .

Now I want them to be able to
<li>put in smilies just by clicking on the icon . (like :o )
<li>put in <br> just by clicking on it .
and so on ....

Can someone tell me how I should do this ?

Help is apreciated . Grtz
Gruger

PS : Sorry bout the typo's

Moving thread to JS Programming Help, even though your immediate problem has been solved. Someone over there may stumble on your thread and have their question answered as well. :)
