Javascript for Formatting Image Size to Browser

Does any one have the javascript code for formatting an Image to the size of the browser when resized? I found one code on a website, but it had a huge advertisement stuck in the javascript that I couldn't figure how to remove. I just want my image graphic on my index page to fit the browser when resized.

Well, that would be perfect...but the image that i want to fit in the browser is a sliced image in tables.. so I can't add <img src="image.gif"> in the code line. Any suggestions?
