I know I'm not the first one to come up with this, but considering the amount of onmouseovers and onmouseouts I see around, I figured I share my version anyway:

Vladdy,

brrrrr... that sends shivers down my spine because of the ultra-coolness. Really elegant solution for a failing browser! And I can't recall seeing it before...

Why not scan through the css rules and find those with :hover/:active, then extract the style body and apply those on the appropriate events instead? Would be a little more modular and transparent that way.

I have :before and :after working in IE5 via similar methods.

Also see this (http://www.xs4all.nl/~peterned/csshover.html).

Agree, jkd.
That was just a quick demo.
Still, when there are not too many :hover styles involved it may not be by worth all the parsing code in .htc.

Now that would be ultra cool! ;)

This is quite interesting. There could be something in this if it's developed a little more, i.e. Making it more modular etc.

Here is another possible application:

BTW, GP, what do you mean by "more developed" and "more modular"

Well, just in following some of the suggestions posted already to make the script more robust, that's all.
