Hi, I'm looking for a way to run a perl script that I have written every time my AIM profile is loaded (the AIM profile is a HTML file called info.html) I've tried the following to no avail:
SSI's exec command
<script> of any kind
any other ideas? thanks a lot..

I really don't mean to harp but why point that out? There is no law that says you can't ask the same question on another board. Unless you are scoutt. (in which case I apologize) Especially to a new member. . .wouldn't exactly make me feel very welcome. Welcome MSSALMON! Sorry I don't know the answer to your question.

It's simple. I have found that people whom cross-post their questions from one forum to another seldom return and post that a solution was found. Placing a link to the other thread allows members to check the status prior to possibly wasting their time answering an already answered question.

I'm not sure exactly how AIM loads the info.html page from your computer into your profile, but it is doubtful that it would use a server which allows the execution of perl. The only way I know of to get your idea to work would be to put a link in your profile to a page on your server (presuming you have a webserver and domain somewhere...) with target="_self" in the anchor tag. This way the page on your server will open in the AIM profile window and you will be able to execute your script due to the fact that the page is on your webserver.
