What do you think of my new site?Afrow UK 01-25-2004, 04:28 PM Hello all, here is my new site: http://dynamic5.gamespy.com/~ddc/afrowuk Please post comments and suggestions! Cheers, -Stu me' 01-25-2004, 05:16 PM Front Page: No alt text on the images Tabular layout Presentational markup (<img/>) Embedded (non-external) stylesheetInner pages: Tabular layout Entire site is built around Javascript, nothing works with it turned off Navigation links don't look like links (the cursor isn't the link cursor) Unsemantic (<table>, <br/>) and presentational (<b>) markupPositives: It validates (http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fdynamic5.gamespy.com%2F%7Eddc%2Fafrowuk%2Fprojects.pl&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&verbose=1) It's XHTML ArcticFox 01-26-2004, 04:38 AM I like it! A Lot! It's got a "something new" feel to it, the enterance page grafix are something I haven't seen on a site before, I like the grey/colourless design on the other pages - it's good! Now the other; OnMouseOver colours I feel should just shade, not colour blue. And everything is to the far left on my 1200px wide screen - think you could center everything or make it fluid (% CSS)? Keep it up! Nightfire 01-26-2004, 11:26 AM I agree with everything arctic said. Got nothing to add that hasn't already been said. spufi 01-26-2004, 03:54 PM Maybe it's me, but I really don't like intro pages. They basically make the user add another click before getting to the real content. Your menu is rather wide and could be cut down by at least 50% of it's width. Afrow UK 01-26-2004, 06:25 PM Thanks for the input, I will see how things go. I'll be cutting away some of the links on the side (there are way too many) and making links link to more links within a new page. As for tabular design, I'm not at the stage of using div's yet, although I did try quite hard, and IE just wouldn't show the page the way it was with <table rather than <div. Thanks again! -Stu |
