i got a new computer at work with win2k, and i don't see scandisk. anybody know about this? thanks

Been a while since I touched Win2k, but if you right click on your C drive, choose properties, then the tools tab...do you see it there? *I have no idea if that is right, on XP now*
Edit: Are you using an NTFS file system?

i had never tried that! cool.
anyway, i see something called "error checking" which looks like it might be the same thing. if it is, why would they have changed the name?? goofy microsoft. :confused:

Yes, XP has the same thing. As to why the name change...I think you already said it...lol :).

Yeah in Win2k they refer to it as "Check Disk" which, way back in the day with dos was a program to fix drive errors but then was supposedly replaced with ScanDisk....
