html editor for a newbie

My friend want to download any html editor for free from internet. He doesnt know html much. So he cannot hand code. Any suggestions?

Arachnophilia, or NotePad Plus maybe. Or why not a more WYSIWYG environment like the 1stPage 2000 or Mozilla Composer?

He'd be better off just learning html, but then again it isn't for everyone.

Now that I'm more advanced and use HTML, XHTML, CSS, Javascript, etc., I've used HTML-Kit most. It also lets you preview your work in both IE and Mozilla while you work, so you don't have to upload & view the page each time you edited it. Personally, the "Find/Replace" feature has saved me tons of time so I wouldn't have to dig thru pages of coding to find & edit what I need.

Hope one of these free html editors can help you out! Otherwise, if you just want something that can throw a web page together fast with little brain-activity or learning required (& still costs you nothing), search for "Microsoft Frontpage Express" or "Netscape Composer". And if you own Ulead PhotoImpact 6 or higher, it too has similar website creating capabilities.
