Hey guys, I have been using Litestep for a while now, but I just recently discovered that the Windows Theme API has been "flushed" out. Now I can make my own themes, which makes Explorer look a lot more attractive than that old blue and green mess ;). Here is the problem though... I need to switch between Explorer and Litestep, most often from a coldboot, which means that I dont want to have to boot into Windows, and then switch my System.ini file up, and THEN restart my computer. I already have the Linux/Windows Grub menu, so it wouldn' be a problem for me to add a new boot menu after selecting that I want to use DOS. I just want to know HOW I would go about maybe setting a file to use in place of the system.ini file, sort of the way you can choose a replacement kernel. Is there any way to do that? or should I write my own program and put it in Autoexec? Thanks guys.

well one thing, If your using xp, you can swap the shell key for explorer.exe to whatever u want.. and u dont have to restard the computer u can simply just kill and restart the shell exe (default is explorer.exe) in the task list. You can also do a "log off" and re log in which saves some time then completely rebooting.

your welcome!

just to note, (if you dont already know) the shell value for xp and 2k is located in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

I have notice though if you change the shell value, some things with the task bar act wierd sometimes.
