Many of you will have already found this via Blogs etc, but I thought I'ld share it with the CF community at large.

Images using CSS (http://www.designdetector.com/tips/aboutcsspencils.php)

This crazy fella has redrawn an image using divs and css!
left border=1px, background=1px,right border=1px.
Insane:thumbsup:

I can only say that some people have way too much time on their hands.

Yeah. CSS is not good for images. PNG or JPEG are, or SVG - though SVG would be better if it were a more compressed binary format instead.

This is an experience that someone had to do one day or the other I guess. I don't think it will be useful to any developers but I have to say that he did it well. He is himself aware of the pointlessness (so to speak) of such a work:
Practical? Doubtful

I think most people will agree that this is to web development what a bright pink F-truck with 40 neons and 3000Watts of sound is to transport.

The words I was looking for... Impressive but pointless.

however I'd like to drive a bright pink F-truck with 40 neons and 3000Watts of sound one of these days

I was actually pretty impressed that he managed to replicate it so precisely!

So was I, that's why I posted it.
When I first read about it I thought
"Oh yeah, more nasty ASCII art"

Really though, there is almost no artist element to it. he merely zoomed in on a photo and reproduced it pixel by pixel.

Jeskel: The F-truck's in the mail :D
