I am a web designer and mainly use photoshop. I work for an online magazine company. I wanted to learn illustrator. Is it worthwhile learning illustrator for web? Or illustrator is mainly for print?
Illustrator is good for you to learn, especially if you ever need to do logos (then you can do them vector and not have to worry about resizing). Also, illustrations and playing around with cell-shading and vector-art in Illustrator can be pretty entertaining; as well as it's almost 3d abilities (you can fool an eye into thinking something is 3d with pure Illustrator much more easily than you can with pure photoshop). It is done more for print that photoshop, but photoshop can do just as well at print, if not better. Though, unless you have your tablet skills down, Illustrator lends itself better to line art and clip-artish type stuff...
