I have some audio files that I want to post to my web page. I do not want users to be able to download these files though. Can and how is this done?

It can't.

This should also be in the html/css section I believe ...

Just as with web pages....anything that a person views or hears on the web has to be downloaded to their computer in order to work.

I suppose that serving them as streaming audio would make it a bit harder to rip them. But you then need some soft on the webserver which can send it as streaming audio and it might eat away quite some bandwidth.

I've experimented with some streaming video soft a few years ago and there were some free ones so maybe you can find something that fits your needs. (if it's worth all the bother to you)

Streaming audio can still be ripped. A more safe option would be to embed it in flash and play it through Flash. However, it can still be ripped, but it takes much more work than most other methods (such as getting the song from %temp%, installing a stream ripper prog, etc.).

I'll just put my tape recorder mic up to the speakers. :D
