Possible? I'm pretty it is, question is how? I d/l some Chinese fonts, but the font file names are in Chinese and they are not showing up in Photoshop 7. I know there's freeware to do it, but must I use it? Is there no other way? Because all the freeware I looked at only recognize family name that begin with an alphabetic letter and the Chinese fonts begin with Chinese character coding. Thanks.

is there not a way to do save as with the fonts? or are they comming in as a package? you should be able to find where they are saved and change the names of the seperate files. I don't exactly know, never tried to rename the fonts....

The problem with fonts is that the font names (it's very seldom a single font name. For example, Arial contains a name post for Helvetica as well as for Arial, Arial Bold, Arial Regular etc.) And the names are encoded in the font files. But, don't the fonts appear if you use a font manager? I've had no problems with the Japanese or Korean fonts not appearing in any program I've tested Unicode support for UTF-16 in.

you can try using font creator program (search download.com) http://download.com.com/3000-2316-10204296.html?tag=lst-0-1 it is a 30 day trial but u can do all u want to a font including edit all of the nameing and families and relations and such, not to mention completely build and edit and manage all the characters. This program is difficult to use tho, can be very complicated.
