Most Viewed Threadsgsnedders 01-05-2004, 09:31 PM What are the most viewed threads and who started them and in which forum. rmedek 01-05-2004, 09:39 PM do you mean formerly known as link92? :) -Rich gsnedders 01-05-2004, 10:11 PM Originally posted by rmedek do you mean formerly known as link92? :) -Rich I knew something was wrong with it! Nightfire 01-05-2004, 10:32 PM Look at the sticky's in the forums, they're the most viewed :) Mhtml 01-06-2004, 03:22 AM Because they're the best :), quality questions and clear precise answers... jeskel 01-06-2004, 08:54 AM Well.... and they just don't leave the top of the page... :p liorean 01-06-2004, 04:48 PM Well, this is one of the threads that actually outtrumphs some of the stickies - and it's been in the top since it was born, on the Technology and Sciences forum. <http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22282>. This thread for the same forum also has lots and lots of views <http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14919> To be sure, that forum generates pretty many threads with very high page views. Other such threads are present in this forum, <http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=26104>, <http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9037>, <http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11254>, <http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6262>, but then again these are the non-coding forums. Computer/PC forum likewise, <http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=29049> for instance. As for the coding forums, it takes much for a thread to have a really high views number. Longer threads, of course, and often threads that engage the more proliferous posters. This thread in the otherwise low volume XML forum, for instance, <http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11384>, or this one, <http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18963>, or this former sticky, <http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19775> General Web Design forum, also a catch-all kind of forum, generates some threads with high views, but with far higher replies count, such as <http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=27087>, <http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=30181>, <http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=29610>, <http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=28739>, <http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=26211> . Note that these for the most part are such threads that hold either religiosly watched or otherwise loaded subjects. Threads in the JavaScript Programming forum tend to be more short lived. It's hard for a thread to remain on the top of the list ther efor very long, so the threads that do usually have titles lots of people are interested in, and few replies, such as <http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31005>, <http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10479>, or the surprisingly long <http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=26880>. liorean 01-06-2004, 04:50 PM Oh, and I learned something from this thread - you can sort the forums according to number of views if you click that header. glenngv 02-17-2004, 09:27 AM There is one thread (http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31245) that literally became a one-on-one conversation (unless someone butts in :D). jeskel 02-17-2004, 11:08 AM that is sweet :) Nightfire 02-17-2004, 12:50 PM Originally posted by glenngv There is one thread (http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31245) that literally became a one-on-one conversation (unless someone butts in :D). lol I noticed that thread too, they have a few other one on one threads lol raf 02-19-2004, 09:32 AM My personal record (talking about a waste of time, in the end) http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24780&highlight=tree jeskel 02-19-2004, 10:17 AM Originally posted by Nightfire lol I noticed that thread too, they have a few other one on one threads lol http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33575 sweet as well :) gsnedders 02-20-2004, 12:33 AM The What Operating System do you Use? in my sig, which is in the Computer/PC discussions, has 1330 more views than the sticky. whackaxe 02-21-2004, 05:14 PM look i hid my source code! there seem to be alot of these :p |
