Hey. I was just reading another forum, and one of the users asked an interesting question, and I'm wondering if it's possible to achieve.
Is it possible to get information off of another site (that isn't yours) and have it display in your website, and arrange the information any way you want?
Say for example, you want to display the current weather according to Yahoo.com or some site like that. Is it possible to open Yahoo.com and extract that information and display it on your site?
I read somewhere that you could do something similar with an FOPEN command or something like. Any Ideas?
Thanks

It's completely possible, however by doing so you may violate terms and conditions on the particular website so it's best to check with them before you implement such a feature.

How would it be achieved though? If I the person were to get legal permission, what would you need to do to codewise?
Thanks

I looked on Hotscripts.com and found a "content grabber" (http://www.hotscripts.com/Detailed/26812.html (Click here) ). I'm looking through the script now to see how it works.

I'm very interested in a similar project - how did you get on please ?
