For some reason, the msn search page, the one you get to after putting ina wrong url keeps forwarding to http://www.startsearches.com/ I've sear4ched for the url in the registry, done virus scans, done spyware scans and nothing has picked this carppy site up. I've also tried resetting IE settings too, but that's not changed a thing either.
I've looked on that site for someway to stop it, but there's nothing on their with info on how to get rid of it, not even a contact link.
Any ideas?

Just updated adaware and it seems to have fixed it.

I just removed some nasty spyware/viruses from a friends laptop. One called RapidBlaster does redirections. It's particulary bad too because when you try to unistall it it will attempt to morph itself into some other common program.

Yeah your browser was hijacked. I use a program HiJackThis to get rid of the hijacks. It seems to have worked well, it is a program for more experienced users to use. If you don't know what you are doing, you could mess some stuff up.

When getting rid of these little beasties it's best to disable system restore in winxp so that the smart ones cannot hide and come back again.
