When overflow is set to "scroll" both horizontal and vertical scrollbars are visible. Is there a way to keep the vertical scrollbar but to get rid of the horizontal one?

Use overflow-x:none

Next time, perhaps you'll wait longer than two minutes for an answer
before you cross-post your question here (http://www.webxpertz.net/forums/showthread.php3?s=&postid=148165#post148165).

overflow-x is an IE only property, so be aware that it'll only apply to those who use IE.

freak is correct, this also goes for overflow-y so it is best to make your pages display correctly without resorting to 'cheap' methods ...

What about when you don't want the vertical but do want the horizontal.

Make your page the correct height and a width greater than 100% ... It's the way it's supposed to be.

Possibly the only use of overflow is scroll (overflow:scroll) ...
