Hi,
I am trying to achieve a background like the one you can see in the attachement .gif with little squares. Can it be done with CSS or should I make a .gif used in the bg? The color is #F5F5F5. Maybe that you will have to zoom to see what I am talking about.

:)

thanx

re_posted the attachement with a zoom... sorry I should have done it in the first place.

best would be to create a small gif file, only a few pixels wide, and either make a border half the size or the mine you want to achieve all around the image. or, just give a fulsize border to two adjacent sides. it shouldn't be to big to load :p

Thank for your answer :) I will use it if I don't have another choice. However I am almost pretty sure that it can be done without the gif solution... Maybe someone will check that htread and confirm my intuition ;).

thanx again.

I don't think so. It wouldn't be worth it anyway, probably around 5k of CSS to achieve what could be done with a 0.5k gif image.

okay... thank for reply. How should I proceed to do this with .gif then?

Well, cut your current picture up into a gif that's just small enough so that it will still tessalate properly, then:
body, html { background: #fff url(bg.gif) 0% 0% }

thanx a lot. I'll do it asap. If no new posts from it means that everything is working alright.
