Instead of [i] have [i] a domain name, I should have said [i] come with [i] a domin name

Any free host is going to have the url be something like http://yoursite.hostsname.com

They don't give away domain names, sometimes paid hosting plans will come with a free domain. You can still use a free host and spend the 8 bucks to buy a domain name and just forward it to the url of your site.

I found a free host that gives you a domain name, no strings attached! www.gamingsource.co.uk (http://www.gamingsource.co.uk)

I also had a paid host w/free domain, but it was hacked, so I am switching to something else:o

Well there are strings attached that I can see.

You still need to buy your own domain for starters, plus the site has to be a gaming site, busy, loads of content, have their ads etc etc.

Heres one of the questions on the web hosting site I was looking at:

Q: I'm worried there's going to be some "hidden charge". Is it really completely free?

A: Hosting at Gaming Source is absolutely free. We don't ask for any monetary details what-so-ever so there's not even a chance of there being a hidden charge. If you're worried about this, please visit our forums and ask some of the other hosted sites!

BUT

You do need to run an ad code on all of your pages

Like what Nightfire said, you didn't read it all:

3 Can I have my very own domain name?
We can host your domain name for free if you wish, but often charges are involved in moving domains from one host to another. In this case, fansites are expected to pay this charge independent of Gaming Source. (Note that Gaming Source DOES NOT charge for moving domains, but other hosts might)

If you are changing nameservers for a domain, the Gaming Source name servers are:

gs1.gamingsource.co.uk
gs2.gamingsource.co.uk

4 Do I need to own a domain name in order to get hosted?
No, not at all. If you don’t want to buy a domain name for your site then you can have the simple address of yoursite.gamingsource.co.uk for your site.

From: http://www.gamingsource.co.uk/hosting.php#TQ5

You don't get a free domain as said above, and you also have to be hosting a site for a game in order to get hosting from them.

A good *paid* host that I found is http://www.blacksun.ca. It is cheap and Canadian (Americans, think of the exchange rate or British). They are really good with minimal downtime!
