hi i have macromedia dreamweaver 2004 mx,i want to know how to upload files to the web when i do upload them and try to vew them on a web page they do not work but wen i have them on my own system they work for some reason

i dont know wether or not this will help but i am trying to use geocities

can someone tell me why this is happening??

I don't think Geocities provides ftp access for building a site there. that could be a possible reason. If there is no ftp access ( as was the case some time back) then the only way to publish your site is by manually uploading each file thru their file browse/upload facility.


Oh I just had a look at the geocities site, they provide ftp only if you have the geocities Pro account

Most likely case is that all your files are not loaded to the web server or the settings are not set to "relative". Look to see if the web page online is trying to link to a file on your PC (for example, something in the C:/ drive).
