Refresh free chat rooms

Whats the best whay to make a refresh free chat room .. So the screen doesnt resfresh every 5 seconds.

Ive needed a decent chat room for some time now but am not able to find a good cheap 1 .. Please help :(

I don't think PHP makes the best of Chatrooms. I would try a Java based chatroom.
