I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. I have a classafied ads web site. I wish to be able to ad a simple chat to it. however, all the free ones that you can download have you create a user name, where as I would like it that after they log into my database they can immidiatly begin chatting with the name that they registered with my database. Do you know of any free scripts that have already been made that I could simply ad to my site and configure it accordingly?
Thanks DrodiT
(I dont know Perl)

are you looking for a real-time chat room or a post-refresh-and-reply message board. real-time chat is nearly impossible to do with perl. you should look at java for that.
if you want a message board, i am unfamilier with databases. tell me more about "logging in" and how the database is managed.

Well the message board would work just as good but I just want one that can be configured to my site..... aw.. its hard to describe. Here check out my site: www.logantextbooks.com I just want something on there that registered users can uses to communicate. But I don't know Perl so I have been looking for free scripts to download but they all have thier own user set up..... I want it to not register new names but just use the users that I have already created with my current script. Check out the site and it will be a little more clear on what im talking about.
Thanks for your reply and help, DrodiT
