I'd like comments on this site
I'm still learning CSS and have no artistic ability whatever, but don't let that stop you :D
None of the links off this site work (including the menu), although you can go to Brothercakes defaults if you click on the menu.
The users of the site are people looking for courses and members looking for information. A fair number of rural (ie. low speed access) users as well.

none of the drop menu's links work
Sorry, you mean they don't drop or they don't go anywhere? They should go to a number of random sites, as per the first post. If they don't drop or do send you on, can you tell me what browser you're using and whether you're getting a JS error?
Hmm.... I checked it using Anybrowsers 4.0 transitional and strict and they worked fine...
3.2 defaults to the non menu no script format.
I'd be interested in hearing if others have the same problem with the menus....

They pointed to random links, not to the appropriate page.

Menus work fine in all the browser i tested it in, but the main layout is screwed badly in netscape 4 and opera 6
AnyBrowser and similair tools will give you a false sense of security about page design; I consider them essentially worse than useless. Really, you need to test the page in the actual browsers you're concerned about supporting.
Thanks for the feedback, BC.
I'll scoop both of those browsers and fix up the layout (I'm pretty sure I know where the problems will lie).
Incidentally, when I was setting up the menu script, I found that the menubar jumped a bit, depending on whether you had it set for static or not. I locked it into static to prevent any layout problems. Could have been something else, though, and it was the last iteration of your script that I noticed that. Haven't checked it in the new one.

beow i'll list some usefull sites about css layout. i hope they help you (as much as they help me :))
Practical CSS (http://www.alistapart.com/stories/practicalcss/);
seila.com -> css layouts (http://www.saila.com/usage/layouts/);
blue robots -> layout reservoir (http://www.bluerobot.com/web/layouts/);
glish.com -> css (http://glish.com/css/): one of my favorite;
whenever you get the time, go to a list apart web site (http://www.alistapart.com/) and check for new article(s)! - they absolutely the best!
Thanks for the links.
A list apart is a regular stop for me and was one of the sites that was influential in my getting away from table layouts and moving to CSS. Another good one is www.brainjar.com
I'm hoping to have most everything done by Thursday. I've figured out the problem that Opera 6 was having and I'm not worried about maintaining the layout for NN4 as long as the content is still readable.

If only :rolleyes: It depends on your priorities, but if you still want to support 3-version browsers (as I do) CSS for fundamental layout is simply not an option.
