It is hard to say... It is up to your creativity...

Yet, some advices:

- Think about that the logo could be used not only for web purposes mainly...

You may need it to look OK for a print (CYMK) at different sizes, for a header, for a stamp, etc...

So, try not to use unsafe colors, try to have a good contrast between the elements, give the logo a "clue" (something unique, funny or assimetric, or whatever). Do not use too many elemants, nor too many font types, avoid blured shadows, and so on...

Anyway, build something around a simple text, or use an unique font...

Try different, simple, good contrast, easy to see and recognize...

Corel Draw?!!! Try Photoshop my freind.

If you can provide more of a background image of the organisation I will help. The logo is just a small part of your corporate image. If you already have a corporate image then we obviously have boundaries here.

The logo you have designed says nothing to me - nothing wrong with it but it would not catch my eye. I'd scrap it.

So - a general backround information is needed to go further.

Hi Stuart H,
Thank for your reply.
My father company is selling mainly Christmas Ornament.
Currently, he shall like to have a website for his client from Overseas to see the ornaments he currently has.
As my father's company is based in HK, his currently logo is just a few chinese wording, which don't attract me.
I know the basic in website designing, but creating the logo is something new to me and I don't quite know how to create it.
Thank You

Dear Lord Child I'll try to whip something out for you while I am designing these icons. If you have any ideas such as any specific ornament shape I should use that'll help. Check out my post entitled something like "Help w/Icons" to see a sample of what I can do.

I agree with you that adobe illustrator is best for creating corporate identities e.g logo.

I was simply saying that the best alternative to corel draw is photoshop. Illustrator for print and CMYK work. Photoshop for RGB web work.

Back to the creation part of this post - I will need images and a rough idea of what you want. Colour / size would be a good start.

hi,
the ornaments which my father create are main santa, christmas bear, snowman, christmas tree, christmas stars and angel in crystal ball.
Regarding the adobe illustrator and Corel Draw, I had got no idea on how these work and for photoshop, I only know how to modify picture with this software.
Regarding the size of the image, it should be about (400 x 80) cm
Thank You
Regards
Victoria

Hello Victoria,

Has anyone been able to help you with a logo for your father's company?

Who is your target customer? It's helpful to be able to communicate the type of product you sell to your customer-base via your logo. For example, mass-market or upscale - new, glitzy, or antique-repro ornaments, etc.

Then tailor the look of the logo so that your potential customer can relate to your father's company. This is known as »branding«.

Illustrator and Freehand are both vector-based applications which are best for logo design as you can scale the designs for banners, storefront and web.

I might be able to work up something for you if you've not gotten any help yet.

Actually I am not very sure on the target customer.
This is because this is the very first time I am doing my little part to help my father.
The christmas ornaments he designs are cray ornament, just like those found in hallmark.
Maybe I will check with my dad about this.
Thanks
