linking problem

Hi im trying to setup a register username/pass system and when i link to the register.asp file it just shows the .asp file in the same way a browser shows a .txt file.
Anyone know how to fix this or what im doing wrong?

Ok so i hosted the .asp files on my school website, the site is asp capable and can host the files. Not i am gettin some error page shown below, please help.

Can the server support asp?

It is an error with your code, specifically on the line mentioned in the error, my guess is that you are trying to use the mid function on a zero length string.

do you have

<%

%>

tags surrounding ALL your .asp

and a

<%@ Language=VBScript %>

at the top of the page

In short : can you post the relevant code (line 171 and what's around it) so we can see what happens + suggest some debugging tricks? Like printing the string to the screen to see if it is empty ?
