Splash page on phpbb

Hi Guys

I have been asked by the boss to put up a splash page to notify people about a redirect while our main site is down. I just wanted to check double, should I change my index.html to index2.html and make the new splash page file index.html?

Sounds good to me.

Nope, for some reason it didn't work. I even renamed the backup index.html file but it is still redirecting to the main index page. Is there anywhere else that I need to change?
