Internet Explorer causing me headaches

If you load the site in IE, the background slider doesn't show and I'm ****ed out of ideas as to why.

Currently my only option is redoing the entire site with a later version of the theme but it's been so customised that it would take so long.

It's a good idea to fix all errors in your markup (http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cardwells.co.nz%2F) before going to tackle display issues in any browser, especially in IE!
