Select Boxes Vs Div's. The final battle

I use DIV's quite alot throughout our websites. Is there anyway of getting a SelectBox not to override a DIV?

For instance, if you have a selectbox on a html page, and on that page is a div with a greater layer, the selectbox overlaps the div area.

Nope. Actually, html and css makes ALL form fields quirky in that way that the document is not guaranteed that they function in any one specific way, and they may or may not ignore styles or other ways to control them. This goes for object tag and frames too, but in the case of frames it's almost guaranteed to be the same rendering engine that handles it.
