Hello and To,
My task is: Create 10-page HTML/DHTML/XML/JavaScript/ Java Applet (what ever it takes) show! WOW! What a first sentence!

I was not knowledgeable about being able to code automatic page changes in FrontPage. I completed the task in PowerPoint (PPT). I had success with my box. I called my business partner in another city across the state (FL). His box did not cashe the background pix. PLUS PPT does not really support sound without OBJECTS and coding the player, which I did, but the player was too gawky for me. So I read and dug some more.

I found the knowledge I need to complete the task in FrontPage. Looks great! However the sound file is referenced on each page separately from each other. The sound stops and starts all over again each time a new page loads. THE solution I am looking for is this: HOW TO GET A BLANKET SEAMLESS SOUNDTRACK TO PLAY OVER THE COURSE OF THE ENTIRE 10-PAGES? This is my quest.

Thank you to whomever can help.

My suggestion would be to do it in Flash, but if your not familiar with it that isn't an option.

My second suggestion would be to use frames. Use a small frame at the top to embed the sound and the main frame would be the slide show. As the slide show progresses only the content in the main frame will change allowing the top frame to continue playing...

Being this software is new to me I hope this reply gets to whom it was intended . . .

Thank you very much for your perspective. I still have yet another piece of software to learn FLASH. Yes this is a very very good solution. Even though I am an extreme power user of software I haven't gotten to Macromedia Flash yet but reading about it's environment so I can hit the bricks running when I do buy it.

About frames: Never created a frames base site due to some browsers are not frame savvy. But then some browsers are just that -- can't get to all the people all the time. But ABC, NBC et setra do? Hummm. They have an army of brainyax and I am a team of one. (Just thinking on paper) don't mind me!

Thanks again.

On the subject of Flash, there's always "Swish". It doesn't have all the capabilities of Flash, but it has a much more affordable price tag. It's easy to use / learn and is capable of creating some pretty decent presentaions. Check it out here if you like:

If you want to give it a whirl, you can download it and try it for 15 days free. If you like it, you then have the option to buy it, if not, you simply uninstall it ;)
