As I seldom print color, I do not want to be compelled to keep the color tanks full. Does anybody know of a fix or is there a printer that weill let me print Black and white when the color tanks are empty.

All the printers I have seen will try to print regardless of which inks are empty. It appears that you have one of the few printers where that is not the case.

Have you tried changing your printer options to print in black/white only?

Yes, I have now done that. Now to see if it will print B/.W when one othr tank is empty.

I will keep you informed.
