Can a .NET application like this be hosted?

My client needs a database running ASPX/SQLServer. No big deal. But the application also needs to allow users to upload Excel files for import into the database and needs the application to be able to create tailored Excel files for download or to be automatically emailed.

First, is this even possible (god help me if its not :) ).

Second, is this something a hosted application can do?

Sorry if this isn't the right forum for asking this kind of question, but I haven't even taken my first ASP.NET course yet so I honestly don't know.

u can use ODBC to work (as a filter) with many datasources like Exel access SQL Oracle, to download upload mail is also not a problem

Thanks, I'm more concerned that a web hoster wouldn't allow me to do back-end things like creating and working with Excel objects.

I use ihost.biz for my .net hosting and there is also large list of them on asp.net. I think your best bet would be emailling some of them and asking.
