i forgot to mention - this page is basically copy/pasted text from a parsed dbase page - the weird image numbers are simply unique keys generated by the databse

im also looking for a way to make it so that when u click on the [+] it actually stays like [-] until you click on it again..

line 53 in your script - you forgot about the brackets:

write
else {numcols = 3;}
instead of
else numcols = 3;

[+][-] problem... Try using two different div, the same position, visibility visible/hidden one eachother onclick

If a conditional has only one operation performed, the brackets do not have to be used.

i have changed that but its not made any difference

basically the 1st + - changed image ok but after that IE rerports that im missing a ;

Why does only the first change?
What does the blur() do???
You'll always get errors in the lines onclick=this.blur(); temp=image1; ...

BLUR stops the 'marching ants' when you click a link in IE and the other bit i stuck in as it was webmonkeys method of swapping images..

closing now as i have done some dev on the page since -
